Berger 80.5 full bore seating depth ?

All my groups in the mid .1s have been at .005 off, but there’s a deep node that I’m aware of around .050 off the lands.

I have a friend that jammed them 20 with great success as well.

Are these bullets very jump sensitive ?
No, they are not jump sensitive.

Soon you will have posts with examples that range from jam to jumps over 80 mils.

In popularity, this bullet in XTC is second only to the 80 SMK. In so many words, there are many folks who have shot this bullet for a long time in Service Rifle match barrels. When you consider the WOA and CLE chambers represent a huge percentage of those AR XTC rigs, then you will come to the conclusion that this bullet is very forgiving. These will jump or jam and the only way to know where they do best for you is after your own tests.

The XTC and Highpower sling target has an X ring that is roughly 1 MOA and the F-Class X ring is roughly 0.5 MOA. In a match quality barrel, you will see many examples of folks shooting cleans with high X Counts using these bullets in everything from jams in bolt guns to jumps in ARs.

What he said. I have had success from 0.010” of to 0.130” off in Wylde chambers with different loads and the 80.5. Photo below was at 0.020” in a bolt rifle sling gun.

Don’t be afraid to do a sweep like Berger suggests for longer jumps as it can produce a winner.

Are these bullets very jump sensitive ? In a 223 1/8 twist how far are you guys loading them off the lands ?
The BERGER 80.5 FULLBORE bullet is a tangent ogive design which gives it very good jump tolerance. As man have stated in its being used and many different bullet seating depths. The RIFLE decides everything in regad to bullet jump and velocity accuracy nodes. So you have to do load development with YOUR RIFLE to see what IT LIKES.
BERGER tangent ogive bullets like the FB and BT TARGET along with SOME OTM bullets are usually very tolerant of jump. We suggest that if you are doing any bullet seating depth testing that you start with the bullet TOUCHING THE LANDS. Then work BACK INTO THE CARTRIDGE CASE in .005 or .010 increments using the starting powder charge listed for the bullet/ powder/ cartridge combination you are loading.
Hope this helps.

Just started to play around with the 80.5’s. First and only loadings so far was .030 jump. Second group of the ladder test produced a .206. This out of stock Tikka T3x Varmint.

Rebs, if I remember, you have the same rifle.
