Tack Driver Stats! Stats! & More Stats!

My goal is to capture information from all the Tack Drivers and put in a spread sheet format on a Tack Driver Website (Under Construction). This will allow shooters to look at everything from overall match statistics down to individual groups and scores.

Some Statistics are a little hard to compare since not everyone as attended all 4 of the Tack Drivers. So I will try to compare apples to apples.

Who are the Top 10 All time group Shooters that have attended all 4 Matches? Number 1 is no surprise since he’s won group the last two years in a row.

Thanks Bart. Rifle is a Stiller S/S Viper action. NF Br42 scope. Stock is handmade laminated wood. Rifle weighs about19 or 20 pounds.
TD1 it was sort of a 6GT barrel. A chamber we called 6 Duke. Virtually a Gt but made the brass from 6.5x47L. PITA to make.
TD2 was a straight 6BR. Shot pretty well but the weather ate me up.
TD 3 was a real 6GT and it shot well. However, earlier in the year I suffered Macular degeneration in my right eye and I shot TD 3 left handed. Awkard but thats life.
TD4 was again a straight 6BR but with quite a few rounds thru it. Just did not get my 6BRA barrel up and running in time. Also got lost on Sunday and just did not recover. I can again shoot right handed but the visual acuity is not quite what it used to be. Again, such is life. I thank the Lord that at 80, I can still shoot.
Looking at the stats, two things jump out. My score performance has sucked. Also, it looks like the overall level of competition has improved where as I did not keep up. But I will be at TD5 ready to give it another go.

I think you’ve shot extremely well. When you look at the individual matches you’re doing really well then an Orangeburg Suprise Jumps up and bites you.

A Quick Look at group. You’re beating the crap out of a couple of your fellow Texans!

Heck, any one of the Three Blind Mice could do better than me in Group.

But I think my Score has been decent

I will be striving to do better.

Ding Ding Ding!

Jackie, you have done well in score. Your average is 239.3 which puts you 3rd in the Overall Score Rankings.

236-1X, 240-3X, 242-2X and placed 9th, 6th and 12th!

Only two Shooters rank higher than you. Hint both are retired Army Officers.

It looks like the past year on the score was really tight first to 19th only 4 points
Is that what you have?
I don’t have the final group aggs how tight is the field there?
Tim You are correct Only 4 points for 19 places

Heres the Top 20 in group

@BartsBullets
So, looks like you have to have a group agg in the .770s with a
Score agg of 245 or better
To be in the running
Sound right
Not exactly. The conditions at Tack Driver 4 were the lightest of all the matches so scores were up and Aggs were down. Looking at winning the Overall Tack Driver a .900 with a 243 would have won Tack Drivers 1-3. Tack Driver 4 .800 with a 243 would have won.

Winning AGGs
TD1 .8638 / 242 / Grand 5
TD2 .9394 / 247 / Grand 10
TD3 .691 / 243 / Grand 7
TD4 .7028 / 245 / Grand 11

Lets look at what it took to win each Tack Driver

TD 1 Peinhardt group 1st .8638 score 4th 241
TD 2 Bart group 6th 1.081 score 4th 239
TD 3 Bart group 6th .8978 score 1st 243
TD 4 Campbell 1st .702 score 10th 243

Another thing to remember is Xs count, And can move you up substantially.

Damn impressive! @jackieschmidt comment of being a tough crowd is spot on!

One thing of notice is that there are 3 placement score sheets.
My personal goal was to try to make it on at least the second
sheet. As it was, I bottomed out the last sheet from a technical
problem. Sh!t happens !! With 120 shooters, the third sheet will
be full, so any one making the first sheet is in rarefied air for sure.

Bart....Will you be having a caliber break down ?? I'd like to see
who used what on that top 20 shooters list of yours.

Looking for a tactful way to ask this question and don't know if I will achieve that so here goes. Why doesn't good Group Shooting translate the same into Score Shooting? Is it just a different day or some other reason? I have only shot in one sanctioned Group match during my 25 years of shooting so don't really know anything about it.

My reasoning is that you shoot your group without moving. In score,
you have to move from one bull to the next. One shot per bull.

I think it does, are you basing your comments on the low scores at 300 meters? Remember we are shooting at a 200 yard score target at 300m.

I knew about the target size and was not thinking about scores at all. I guess I was thinking perhaps someone shooting really well would be able to do them both well, mebby not so the question.
