Lack of 22-250 brass

The OP's concerns about the availability of a certain mfg of 22-250 and the availability of acceptable replacements seems to have been solved here. Its his right and prerogative to decide how he chooses to proceed but supplying false information about this particular brass being mothballed or obsolete is doing him a disservice. I believe it has already been disproven here.

TO THE OP,
Given the sources provided, there are formidable alternatives with 22-250 brass. I wish you well in your reloading ventures.

I did not provide FALSE information.

The postman didn't ring twice today but once was enough. Some 'status-unobtainium' came right to the door of my sod hut on the lone prairie. If it can get here, it can show up like..... anywhere. ;)

Brother they have quietly stopped making all of the Walmart cartridges. Try to find 243 or 270 or 3030 etc etc

They have essentially stopped making just darn near everything while no one was looking.
Hmmm...my local retailers must not have gotten the notice.

This was at just one stop today (243W top shelf, 270W lower shelf). Lots of 30-30 and enough 22-250 to choke a horse. I asked a sales person if they had any more in stock and he said: "You driving a car, pickup or pulling an empty trailer?"

I don't think this is typical at all. Even if one or two stores have stock, it doesn't mean there isn't a shortage. (See primers)

With the lack of good 22-250 brass. Lapua quit producing it. Looking at threads people use to make 6xc brass from lapua 22-250 brass.

Can i take 6xc and make 22-250 brass ? What are the options these days ?
YES, I HAVE DONE IT BOTH WAYS. MAKE SURE U CHECK FOR DONUTS when necking down.

Don't they know it's unavailable? ;)

Good shootin' -Al

Compared to the previous supply, which was USA made 22-250 being in literally every major retail store that sells sporting goods, the current supply would be basically UNAVAILABLE.

Talk about looking at trees and forgetting the forest. Considering that 22-250 is a REMINGTON cartridge... I don't think Remington has produced any noticeable quantity of it in a long time.

I can't believe there are still people that can't see it.

All items on the shelf are way over priced, but you can thank virus created shortages along with the current state of our economy for this.

I miss the days when Remington corelokt 30-30, 243, 270, 308 and 30-06 could be had for $9.95 a 20 count box around this time of the year and having the resources to burn out a 22-250 barrel if you wanted to was something you never worried about .

Rube Shooter, show me one recreational shooter/ hunter that doesn't miss those days....
It is what it is, for now, it may never turn around form these prices of today.
We can only hope.

This is why i have 3,000 rounds of LC 223 brass and forming dies for some of my 20 cal stuff
l'm with you LSherm. My 22-250 is retired. Replaced by a Cooper 21 in TAC20. A true 4000fps gun w/32gr VMAX. Flat as a Lazer to 300YDS! Simply point and SHOOT. 0nly HALF the recoil too!
