we retirees who SUPPOSEDLY got an exemption, were told to register. Go figure. I have no idea how that's working out for <them>. And just for an FYI.... 2 ISP Academy classes graduated today. A total of 20, count them, 20 cadets graduated and were sworn in. I'd bet more than 20 are retiring each week and at this rate, there is no way numbers of Troopers will ever catch up to the need. Troops knocking on our doors?!?!? They don't have the manpower, can't seem to recruit the manpower, and it just ain't gonna happen.

You say that, but they just lower the standards. It seems now they only want to hire people who will do what they’re told by the politicians and ass kissers
regardless of right or wrong . Long gone are the days of the cop who can think for himself and help someone out.

Not being from Illinois I had not heard of this bill. I tried to go and read the text of the bill but I get “page is not available.” I did read this article:

All I can say is Wow.

This quote from the article sums up my thoughts perfectly: “...a bill to allow illegal immigrants to become police officers, giving non-citizens the power to arrest citizens in our state,...No sane state would allow foreign nationals to arrest their citizens, this is madness!"

One problem getting police officers is the candidate passing the background check and the physical. Too many brushes with the law and too many Big Macs. How in hell are they going to background check ILLEGAL aliens?

If you have 1-2 good cadets it’s a miracke
They are hiring people who “ check boxes” and who blindly follow orders and promote the liberal agebda
When you do get a good officer that goes out and works, makes cases, uses discretion when appropriate
They crucify him
Review all his body can footage till they find some minor violation and “ hand out discipline “
Not anywhere near the job I started

There are some things we see similarly, to be sure. Whatever the differences we see, we can agree that things are not what they should be now. I do blame the politicians for that. Media and the public second guessing every move and command not backing up the rank and file as they should to keep the politicians off of their backs. Yes standards have changed. And that's because the politicians and the public want public relations rather than enforcement. I'll be forever smh over that.

FFL log book and hard copy of the 4473 is not supposed to be in a data base, however, any FFL that ceases operation must surrender the log book and paperwork to ATF. What they have done with that after that is likely digitize them in a searchable format....




The lack of ability to enforce and Occam's Razor would say that the enforcement will occur as an add on charge when you have already done something to draw the attention of law enforcement. I doubt the States Attorneys or Sherriff's want to be the test case by showing up at a gun range or knocking on the door of a citizen and demanding to "see your papers". That said.... I have sold or relocated my banned items as I am not interested in being the test case.
