AR10 6.5 creedmoor barrel issue

i know this isn't a big AR10 forum but i have some copper hanging up on the gas port, it is on the muzzle side of the gas port. i am not familiar enough with AR's to know if this is vaguely normal or not.

these are in fact 2 different pics with circa 2019 teslong borescope

i had just cleaned barrel with a boresnake, have not tried any copper cleaner yet but i will. in the meantime, does this seem normal,
approximately 50 rds down the barrelSnap_003.jpgSnap_004.jpg

Use a cotton patch over, a Bronze Brush slathered with JB's and, Smooth that area,.. out ( IMO ).
12 to 15 "Passes",.. ONE way !
Clean Twice, afterwards to, remove ALL traces of,.. the JB's.
I had actually considered that but was concerned what it would do to rest of the barrel. why not just twist rod with patch with jp on it in place on the affected area? why would jb's only smooth that spot out? just wondering, not arguing. what ticks me off is i have to spend hours fixing the damn brand new barrel.

Eric Cortina,.. JB's / iosso's his Barrels,.. on a Regular Basis ( every Few, Hundred shots ),.. just don't go, Crazy.
10-15 Passes, One way is enough to "Polish" ( Do NOT "Spin" brush / patch and, "Egg out" the Bleed hole, area )
I do THIS, to all of, My Factory Rifle Barrels before "Break-in" shots and they all shoot, "Well".

When Chambers are Cut, on Factory Barrels, sharp Burrs are always Left around Throat area, so I Polish that area and, the rifling edges,.. "Sharpness" a Bit.
Go on YouTube and look up, "Cleaning" Rifles by Eric C. ( very Minor Wear, IMO )
Expensive custom Barrels ( Krieger, Brux, Bartlien, etc. ) ARE, factory,.. LAPPED.

why wouldn't criterion lap their barrels? i don't know if they do or not but just assumed?

They are Button Rifled barrels and probably NOT Lapped, ( to My Knowledge ), as they are, MUCH cheaper, Price wise, (Lapping is One more, costly, step) than, the others, I Listed. I did this same, "Polish Treatment" to My New,
6 XC Criterion, RemAge barrel, when I got it, a couple of years ago ( Shoots, Awesome ).
Might try, Calling James at Northland about it,.. if, curious.

makes sense. thanks
i have a criterion 6mm cm on my old ruger rpr and it shoots nice.

Doing, the JB's "Polish job" and, a THOROUGH Barrel Cleaning afterwards, is about, a 45 - 60, minute Job,.. Max.
I'd probably do, a Few Extra "Strokes", Back & Forth ( NO Spinning) , directly "over", the gas Bleed Hole, area.
Don't forget to clean out your Gas Block, too.
Good Luck ! Be sure to, let us know how this worked out for, you.
