I'm building 6xc with a 12 twist barrel for varmint hunting. I'm planning on us 60-80 grain bullets. There doesn't seem to be much data out there for the lighter weight bullets. Let me know what you guys are using, or point me in the right direction. Thanks,

Before my XC, I was getting excellent results with IMR 4064 and 4895 with 65gn v-max bullets from a 243 Win. Both powders performed great surpassing my expectations and gave me a nice, forgiving powder charge window to work with. Best loads were with maximum charges.

I've had a 10tw 6xc for varmint and predator hunting for almost 10 years now. Great cartridge IMHO.

For 68-75 gr bullets I've used R15, 4064, and 4895. Just recently I tried some Staball Match in it wth a 70gr that showed some promise also.

For 80's -85gr I've used 4064, R-15, AA2700, and WW760. I liked the 2700 real well with those bullets.

It's an easy cartridge to load for in my experience with it. Enjoy. WD

Steelhead King,
I had a 1:10 6xc I used H4350 from 65-95 grain Bullets and it shot extremely well but as others stated many powders work well it’s a easy and forgiving cartridge to tune

Varget has been great with 85 gr. SGK in mine. Good velocity and accuracy. I have some Ramshot BigGame
that I haven't tried but I'm thinking that should work well too.

Good luck with yours and report back. John.

In my 6XC with 85gr Sierra BTHP, These shot excellent with groups at or below .2 and 3300+ fps and this bullet has anchored every single groundhog on the spot in every cartridge I've used since 1976

Believe it or not my 6xc likes most everything some. I had to go through a bunch of different powders to find what it like the most, I never had that problem to that extent. Mine is a 1-8 twist and I finally settled on Sierra 107gr MatchKing with IMR4831, and RL19 with 108gr Berger's elite. The powders that most had great luck with the H4350, which shot good in mine but the IMR4831 & RL19 out preform it. The only problems with my loads is both powders are somewhat heat sensitive where the H4350 isn't as much. But it just goes to show every gun is different. You love your XC as they are crazy accurate and very easy to load for for sure.
