Erik Cortina’s blackjack challenge

I gladly concluded that in his 500 yards blackjack challenge Erik was shooting straight 6BR and 6x47 lapua, not 7PRCW.

This is our guy:):):).

What puzzles me is however the choice of powder. He said he was using N150. In combination with 109s the velocity probably was not great. Assuming he uses 30gr, he could achieve 2800fps with 28" barrel.

It is a good watch. He got beat down this round though. I remember a clip of him and Speedy talking Erik said he preferred to shoot in the wind without any wind blowing he was just as good as anybody else.

Well accuracy trumps Velocity so maybe it was just a more accurate powder for him on his barrel. Im
Using n150 on my bra for that reason, and varget in my br for that reason

That is pretty darned neat.

When someone missed, they all went back to square one. do you have to go in the order they are hanging?

No, he changed it up on this latest video. You can choose to shoot big to small or small to big.
He also change to hit and move on versus haveing to start over..

Did Erik issue a $5000.00 bounty to score a blackjack at 500 yards using open sights? Does the human eye have sufficient acuity to see a 2” square at that distance without magnification?

If you knew how far apart the squares were on center, and any vertical difference, you could do it all while aiming at the largest square. Assuming the largest square provided a sufficient aiming point.

Yes. He said commenters were saying they could do it with irons, so he put out the bounty. I commented something to the effect of; iron sight people are some of the most over-confident people I've ever met, he should make the pot public so we can add to it.
