New Holster

Was out in the woods most of this week packing my .500 S&W BFR revolver. I made a western rig holster which hangs pretty low and wiggles around. So, I decided to make a more modern holster which will ride almost 6 " higher in the side. I started at 8 am and finished it up at 1:30 pm. Made a buffalo nickel snap and made a two-tone holster. It now rides really nice on the waist and has little movement when walking. I have a cowboy type sewing machine hand lever operated. As another note a friend has a horse and his bridal needed repair and could not find anyone to fix it locally. I told him bring it by and I will take a look. I actually made a brand new one using the existing hardware he will be sending me a pic of the bridle on his horse.

Nice holster. You do beautiful leather work.
Thanks, I still consider myself a rookie. I used to make knife sheaths in the 70s for the guy's buck knives when I was in the USCG. Back then the buck knives were a standard carry. I only have been doing some work the past couple years starting with rifle slings, case holders and a few basic holsters.

Nice work. I worked in a sewing factory and have a couple of industrial machines. It looks like a nice heavy duty machine. Looks like a cylinder machine that you built a table top for? One of mine is a cylinder machine and I have thought about something similar.
I am curious about the big lever on the right side of the machine. What does that do?

The sewing machine can sew up to 2" thick leather. The sewing machine is non-electric and the handle by pulling it back and forth operates the machine. It is a Tandypro cowboy outlaw machine.
