Super Pigs from Canada threatening to invade MN

From the article:
“Pigs are not native to North America. While they’ve roamed parts of the continent for centuries, Canada’s problem dates back only to the 1980s when it encouraged farmers to raise wild boar, Brook said. The market collapsed after peaking in 2001 and some frustrated farmers simply cut their fences, setting the animals free.”

Its a bird!
Its a plane!
No, it's Super Pig, strange visitor from another planet who came to earth with powers and abilities far beyond those of normal Pigs.

Super Pig, who can change the course of mighty rivers, bend steel with there bare hoofs.

And Oink, disguised as Piggly Wiggly mild-mannered porker for a great metropolitan pig farm, fights a never ending battle for truth, justice and some snacks.

And now another exciting episode in the adventures of Super Pig.

Years ago I was talking to a game warden about coyote problems and he told they were something about to be major problem worst than the coyote problem
In the form of Wild Hogs well he was right. Between shooting them along with trapping them we have not put a dent in the ever growing population. Now your saying we about experience the super pig

Wild hogs will get to the point that you can't hunt them with any success. A friend had peanut fields and the wild hogs would root them up so bad that low gear in the tractor wasn't slow enough to disc it. He had a retired friend that vowed to kill them and he hunted them for two weeks night and day and never fired the gun. A man with alzheimer's got lost one winter and drove to the edge of a swamp and got stuck. We could see where he tried to get the care out and slept inside. He was never seen again. Maybe the new remote traps will help and some tough men with good catch dogs.

Alzheimer's

While they are fun to hunt, they destroy more acreage than anything but floods. You don’t want them.
I agree but if they do come - well, we might as well get some small benefit in the form of another destructive critter to hunt.

Here is eastern PA, the farmers absolute hate destructive nature of ground hogs. Most farmers will not only let you hunt them but also point out areas where they are concentrated. Once the farmers gain confidence that you are a safe and responsible hunter, you're in.

Having a gray beard helps with that confidence thing. ;) I am known as "The Ground Hog Man" in the areas I hunt. When I knock on the door of a farmer's house and the wife answers, often she will call out to her husband, "Elmer, The Ground Hog Man is here!":rolleyes::rolleyes:

I had the same thoughts on the wolves.
However that could cause an even bigger number of wolves if there is more to feed on.
Would be an interesting match, full grown wolf, against a full grown boar.
