Availability is Key--My shop Bluecollar always has Hornady in stock so question is what Vmax for long PD shots? The 87 is a PIA to get shooting great--so ...should I try the 58g, the 65g, the 75g Vmax straight 6BR in Savage factory rifle 8 twist with short FB in this one. Headed there this morning and want to try something other than the 87--I have it shooting OK but not great--I have Varget and N133 and N135 I am thinking the 75g
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!

80 grain Blitz would be my choice after the 85 BTHP which, I guess, has been discontinued.

I’ve had good success with the Vmax in the weights you’ve listed in many of my 6mm rifles, fast twist. One bullet you may want to consider is the 70 Blitzkings, for whatever reason that bullet tends to give some itty bitty groups in my 6BR and 6PPC varmint rifles. Performance on small critters isn't much different than Vmaxes and Ballastic tips, they all give you red mist and chunks on the prairie dog fields.

I've been shooting, the 80 gr. Sierra Varminter's, 80 gr. Berger, Flat Base Varmints and up to, the 95 gr. Classic Hunters for, Longer Ranges on Sage Rats or at, a coyote,.. once, in a while.
All 3 are Accurate, in my 1-7.5 twist, 6XC, IF NOT,.. pushed too Hard.
I could NOT get, the 87 gr. V-Max to group "Well", repeatably,. in My Rifle.
When I run Low on Bullets, the 70 gr BlitzKings and 75 V-Maxes, look like, a Good Ones to, Try !
I really LIKE, most Sierra Bullets !

Although I haven't shot Prairie Dogs since 1998, I found a cheap, accurate, and fragile bullet in the Remington Power Lokt 50 gr. in .22 caliber. They are very accurate and will explode pds. I did not shoot any 6mms but they should be the same. Good shooting...James
