New Replacement Stock for Savage

You might watch and see if they carry these Savage inlets to their other type stocks later. Some of them are very affordable.

Most people who would be buying this wouldn’t be using a completely factory $400 barreled action. It would more than likely be part of a build. Similar as with a Rem700 action. Heck, the newer Savage 110’s arent even that cheap anymore either…lol
Bought a new Savage 111 in 270 Win for a donor the last year for $399.
Clearance, yeah, but...
I refuse to pay more than $500 for a Savage action.
Rifle is a 257 Roberts AI now.
Savage needs to build an oem stock like the bergara hmr.
I remeber not that long ago Remingtons with Grayboe stocks had those stocks cracking, spliting and breaking.
Places will charge what ever the market will bear. Plenty of idiots with more money than brains that will get out their credit card and over spend for instant gratification and "percieved" benifits. People want to be sold on an image or a dream. They want the car sales men to sell them on emotions and dreams and to be raked over the coals or it would not happen as a matter of routine. We are taught these things in marketing classes.
You do run into some really good deals from time tot ime but once word gets out the prices jump fast. Sadly paying a lot is no gurantee of quality or benifit and 70% or more of the people on this sight understand sceince, engineering, materials about as well as a toddler and it shows in purchasing preferences.
If the market demanded it you could have a well designed and built non-exotic stock on a $500 rifle that is 85% as good as the best synthetic non-chasis stocks. Blame the Ivy League MBA's and the Hedge Funds that own so much of the gun manufacturing and accessory world and influence that remains. It is only when customers stop being super consumers and demand more that they get more! Price points are as flexible as freshly cooked pasta but the average Super COnsumer does not undeerstand this and it is reflected in the market!
On the other hand you can not expect small companies to take a big risk and not get compensation as close tot he front end as they can to quickly offset risk and quickly add to net!
There are a lot of people on this sight that are not that bright and chose not to educate themselves for close to free. If I made the best stock in the world for an OEM rifle if I gave it away free or cheaply people would think it is garbage because it is free or affordable. If I charged $800 for the exact same stock and keep in mind it is an incredible design it magicly is a completly different perception and different outcome even though the only difference was price point. The research has been done over and over and over again since the 1950's and it get's the same outcome over and over again. Only a small percentage of the people would see past the internet experts, gun magazines and public opinion and see just how great the "affordable" but brilliant stock was.
The "tactical" and "build" crowd would write it off instantly and pitch it in the trash and drop $800 on another stock that might look flashy and better but might not actual be any better for the task at hand. In light of this almost no factory OEM todays comes with a factory stock that is worth having on the rifle and if it is it is not made by them! They come in tragic dumpster fire trash-tastic throw away plastic stocks with no bottom metal!
You can make an affordable stock in large numbers that is not a dumpster fire flexable as a wet noodle Dollar Store plastic turd. Plastic/Polmer comes in many types and grades. Properly reinforcing a plastic stock so that it is rigid is not hard to do. people do not demand it so you do not get it. Same thing goes for bottom metal.
