Hey everyone, I’ve been out with my 6.5 Creedmoor firing some Perterson SRP brass for the first time. I’ve gotten 3-4 misfires out of about 75 cases. The primers look to be getting struck well, I’ll try to fire them 4-5 times before I give up on them! But no go.
What’s the typical cause? I checked the shoulder bump vs a fired case and these are .007-.008” bumped. Is that enough to cause misfire?.. The other thing that I’m thinking is that the primers may not be seated deep enough? I haven’t measured them, but they look to be flush with the case.
This rifle has about 700 rounds through it and I don’t remember it ever misfiring with this type of frequency, or really ever at all.
I do have 150 rounds of Peterson SRP brass that I’ve been using through this gun without issue.
For reference this is a Defiance Deviant action, Bartlein barrel. CCI 450 primers. H4350 powder.
Let me know your thoughts please!
Thanks
