1911 question

instead of a new thread... today I was messing with an older all original 1960s 1911. The original grips, walnut w Colt medallion, had one grip panel was a little loose. I loosened and tightened the offending panel. still a little loose. I put on some NOS wood grips and all is tight. no change in bushings or anything. please chime in with any thoughts you may have. and also, a few months ago, I am 95% sure the grips were snug...

Possibly moisture content change causing the wood grips to shrink a bit.

You could try o-rings under the grip screws
