My nephew an avid hunter , and his girlfriend went for elk where he lives in Arizona took this 500lb cow last week.

Congratulations to him for the accomplishment. Always refreshing to see todays youth engaging in the outdoors.

Headed off to first elk hunt of my life in a week. Filled with anticipation. Going to use a Winchester Model 70 in 7mm Mag gifted to me by my late uncle. Have some 154 grain Hornady Interlocks loaded up. Your picture gets my blood pumping. Thanks for sharing.

Here in continental Europe you can hunt elk only in the Nordics. I can imagine the fun of taking down such a huge game. What is elk's meat like? It's like deer or beef-like?
