Leupold 36xbr-d or Sightron s2 big sky help !

Looking at buying one of these two scopes. Have found good deal on each. Just curious what people that have them think of them thanks

Based on when the scopes were new, the optics are pretty equal with a very slight edge to the Big Sky optics. The Big Sky (which has been discontinued for some time) is also a bit sharper than the standard...and still available...SII 36X. Tracking is generally good on both with the Sightron system being mechanically better and having 1/8" w/e adjustments. The Sightron 'clicks' are much softer feeling than the Leupold. The Leupold 'D' series has a lock ring to stabilize the objective lens package, which is a good thing. It can sometimes can cause a minor change in parallax after tightening it. It must be tight...not left loose. This can't be over emphasized. If not tightened, the POI will wander from shot to shot.

Sightron's warranty is done in their U.S. facility. Leupold is the same though their track record for service lately is all over the place. It might get fixed or they may offer to upgrade you to a CS series for some extra money.

On any used target scope, it's history of reliability is everything.

Good shootin' -Al

Just my experiences...nothing gospel about it. It's weird how people will walk down a firing line, look through a scope that's focused for a different persons vision...and then make judgements on the image quality of that scope.
Very true

If your eyesight is not the best you may have issues with parallax on the loopy, I usually have to run the ocular almost all the way back on most scopes and the loopy I cannot get them parallax free, but that's me never had an issue with the 36 brd or the big sky 36x...but the loopy 36x issues

I agree... you must fully adjust the scope to your eyes, if everyone had 2020 it would be great but not the case
