Good to hear! I'm going in a week from today for the left and two weeks later for the right.one thing for sure...white is a lot whiter after surgery
I had the laser on my left eye on Wednesday and now i have a floater in it. Ain't bad though.I had my right eye done 4 weeks ago. It's been blurry the last couple of weeks and the Dr said I have a film right dead center. She said they will scrape it with a laser and everything should be good. No floaters or dry eye and everything else looks great.
yup uncorrected eyes see white like a manila envelope, but corrected eyes see white like brand new white t-shirts. almost too brightJim the DR asked when i was going to do my left eye and I told him "not until my vision gets much worse." he said close your left eye and look at my lab coat with your right eye. Not reverse eyes, I was surprised that with my left eye the coat was yellow and with my right eye it was bright white. You right 100% about whites being brighter.
I am pretty sure you are thinking about the Himalayan Cataract Project.I remember reading an article on this surgery many years ago about the Dr that really perfected the lens replacement surgery (National Geographic possibly?). He was doing multiple hundreds of patients in Africa per day, one eye each day per patient. Many patients had been blind for years and it was overwhelming the following day when they came back to remove the patch. Very powerful reading.
It was also an article that touched on health care costs as he was able to do all those surgeries for less than $10 ea (done for free for the patients). The lenses were $5.00 each. Dr’s w/out borders type of deal. At the time I think $5000 was quoted for the same operating here in the states…
It’s an incredible surgery, it’d be nice if it wasn’t such a racket though. At the time I don’t believe laser surgery was a thing though.
