what is the cleaning patches of choice for you guys ? Is any of them non fraying, absorbent and good cleaning ?

Pro Shot cotton flannel.

Absorbent +++++

Fraying: better than most cotton flannel that I've tried - I think it's the nature of the fabric that some isolated fraying occurs but on balance, they have performed very well for me.

Here are the Boresmith Triangle patches, which are available on Amazon. They do work well.

Another thing that some people do is use a round patch, but penetrate it OFF-center. That way you get a short and long side of the patch in the barrel and that can sometimes allow a smoother movement.

I started cutting my own several years ago. Get flannel from Jo Ann Fabrics along with a disk cutting tool. You can make them any size you want. I usually cut mine 1.125" square. This size works well for 223 & 6 mm. I have the material double over on itself and cut a strip. Then cut that strip into the squares. Each time I cut a square it produces 2 or 3 patches depending how many times I folded the material over.

I have cut out some triangles as well, but it is many more steps.

^^^^^^^
Cut my own, size is what ever the jag needs. I make everything I need from 17-45. About as much fun as trimming brass, but I do a bunch for what ever I am set up for. Jo Ann’s has better scenery than Walmart for sure ;-).

I believe these will give better patch to bore contact than the square patches.

One thing that I will never go back to is cutting my own patches. What I need is consistency in patch size and thickness and qualities such as non-fraying and adsorbent ( 100% cotton). BTDT fighting a patch through the bore guide or down the bore bending the rod. I buy direct from Pro-Shot which is the best quality I have found and competitively priced.
For .22 caliber centerfire I use their 1-1/8" square patches on a .22 cal (as labeled / not actual dimension) Dewey speartip jag. Jag size and design make a huge difference in the size and thickness patch you use. These patches also work great when using Iosso or J-B as they offer sufficient surface area to get the job done in one session of short-stroking the problem areas.

Midway carries the pro shot patches in the 1000 count also.
