Midway seconds 77gr match bullets

Shows they have some at a decent price, wonder if they are noslers or sierras, has anybody bought any and can confirm ?

Last batch i bought same PN as the batch listed on Midway. Sierra list a length of .994 Noslers list a length of .980 for custom comp and RDF is 1.070

furnished to Midway by Nosler, as the bulk dog town ones are.

I bought a batch of 6mm 90 grain matchking seconds from Midway one time. I'll never do it again. Now I may have got the worst batch they ever sold, but dang! It was clear these were run while they were setting up the press. OAL was all over the place by as much as .075! But once I sorted them by OAL, the BTO was way off even in the ones with the same OAL. (and they shot about like it looked like they would)

I buy these for for my gas guns for plinking, but dont use them for my precision rifles. There's too much variance in weight.

I have shot thousands of seconds. OAL may be all over, ogive length is what I go off of. IHMSA is a some what easy game, hit it and knock it over. The Hornady and Sierra seconds I have used over the years no matter what the nose looked like shot surprisingly well

I purchased some blemished Nosler CC bullets for my 22 Creedmoor a couple of years ago. Guess I got lucky...

1st batch of second I bought was awesome. Everything after wasn't good. I still use some for "better than ball" applications. Most will land within 1.5 to 2 MOA and that is still better than 55gr fmj.

Been there and done that. I made the mistake of whipping out a comparator and measuring. I had 3 different piles of "close enough" when I was done and a pile of WTH. As others mentioned, they shot decent but not worth my effort. The one's I got (77 grain HPBT) were Sierra's as best I could tell.

I am curious if anyone has ordered the Creedmoor Match Grade HPBT. The website says they are first run and not second's. The BC is higher than the Sierra MK's. Are your groups any different than the Sierra? My 223 has a 1 in 8 twist.

Bought 500 a while back (this year) finally culled them by base to ogive. Same weights (well close) but after having 6 different cups to sort by B-to-O I have 5 boxes of different lengths. I won't buy them again. I guess they will be used to practice. Just not sure if Nosler or SMK. The ones I tossed were so malformed at the boat tail I do not even see a reason to load them.

Depends on your purpose. For plinkin, fire forming etc. why not! but probably not for long range matches

They are 77 match bullets to my knowledge, they do not discern between match or practice type. I do not practice with anything other than match stuff. Hell I rarely practice so there is that

Scott - Creedmoor is now carrying both 'practice' and 'match' bullets from American Bullet.

The 75gr 'match' bullets in 250 quantity are just under 17 cents each.

Thanks, I have seen that. Have a bunch of RMR 69s and 75's. I am happy with the RMR 69s. Not yet convinced on the 75 RMR yet but only loaded them once so far.
I have seen the American Bullet Co practice and now match from CS. Always good to subsidize the SMK 77s I have for full course.

I got a box of 1000 nosler "seconds" a few years ago (77g 224) - They shot pretty damn well over the usual 24 grains of varget in an AR.

It seems like nosler sells more seconds than they do "firsts"
