Patriot Supply Long-Term Survival Food

I have about a month of "survival" food. But I have months and months of food we normally eat. We just buy a bit more than we need each trip and make sure we cycle it and use the older exp dates.
Make sure you plan for how you will cook it if you have no gas, electric or water.
Patriot Supply is not the tastiest IMHO. But if that is the only thing available you will be happy to have it.

We have Mountain House. We use it every time we go camping or hunting. I like "some" seasoning so I'll bring that with too, but it's not bad IMHO.

I bought some stuff way back to prep for the Y2K scare. (Just in case). Don’t remember the brand. That stuff was really salty!

I'm down with the long term non-perishable stuff that we use all the time anyway. In our pantry we've got a lot of rice, beans, pasta, coffee, canned maters, cans of chili, dry soups, sardines, coffee, dry milk, dry fruits, nuts, more coffee, flour, about a dozen MRE's, instant coffee, --- we could go for several months if necessary, and about a year or two with coffee. jd

I have a rifle and deer... That being said. I have vacuum sealed some rice and beans... We have chickens.. I have a few Mountain House meals I eat on fires and another brand that escapes my mind right now..

That’s a good idea on the coffee, I need to do that.

I have a years worth of patriot supply, but haven’t tried it yet, I figure I’ll be happy to have it no matter how bad it tastes if the grid goes pop.
Don’t forget the odd ball items, tooth paste, deodorant ,water filtration.
I also froze about 20 cans of snuff vacuum sealed, I tried one that was a year old and it was still fresh. We also keep some whiskey and wine stashed for trading stock if needed.
Staying prepared is expensive.

My beautiful Red-head is a member of the LDS faith , and she follows their Doctrines of food storage to the letter . We should be good for probably longer than our Senior ages will allow .

Ammo and "OTHER" supplies , I'm not talking about , since my "row-boat" accident .

A few 1/2 gallon jugs of even the cheapest vodka will come in handy as well.
Likewise 90% isopropyl alcohol should be in your stash.
As for heating, “sterno” type cans will simplify small meal prep.

The LDS church actually sells food for long term storage. I've bought some and tried it. Much better than the Patriot Supply food. It's nice because it's food we eat anyway. (Wow,Their prices gave gone through the roof!)
