What's your dream powder scale?

Imagine the rock solid reliability of a beam scale and the reading speed of a digital. The tuned, green bodied, oil dampened Redding #1 scale delivers this! Single kernel responsiveness and it dampens out in 4 seconds. It is what I use and I could use any of them.

If you have been loading with any other beam scale, this one will change your life (in the loading room)

Just from pictures of the scale what is the easiest way to tell if it is hydraulic dampened?

I am going to stick with my Lyman M5 and Ohaus 10-0-5 scales. Yes, that is plural. I have backups, and I also have backups for my backups so I never have to worry about having to buy or use a digital scale, except for maybe getting a digital scale to weigh cases.

Great scales!

When I dream of the ideal powder scale ,Redding #1 is never in my dream.

I don't even care for the Redding No. 2 that much. There is nothing wrong with it and it is a perfectly fine scale. I have one. I just find my M5 and 10-0-5 scales easier to level and use. The No. 2 level adjuster is a bit harder to get to and the No. 2 is lighter, too light, I think, unless you customize it with weight.

Since I got my FX120i with V4 reloading has become Much easier--It is the best item I have bought in my shooting hobby. And if you look at resale value--it seems you can use it for a year or two and still make out when you sell--so cost of ownership is not bad at all--I am not a tech computer guy but I was loading ammo 30 minutes after I got it unboxed. I loaded some 30-06 and I think you can do that well with a kitchen spoon--a grain or few does not seem to matter but with 223--It matters and this rig makes it easy to control that giant variable so I can concentrate on the other things.

The most sensitive and accurate scale I’ve owned was a D-5 Scotty tuned and sent my way, I sold that scale and several others out of my collection leaving only a M-5 out in the reloading shack and my trusty 10-10. My problem is neck strain these days so I’m afraid my beam scale days are in the rear view mirror.

FX120i would be mine.
Right now I’m using cheaper digital that measures in .00 decimals, Uniflow thrower and hand trickler. Will probably go out this way.
Actually I use two sets of scales as a check to satisfy my mind.
