R.I.P. Jim Scoutten of Shooting USA

I met him at the SHOT SHOW a couple of years ago. He was hurrying through the crowd with his crew close behind. As he passed by, I just said hello. He stopped and looked at me and told his crew to go on. He spoke to me a few minutes and then continued on. I could tell he was really busy, but he still had the time to talk a few minutes.
That's exactly how he was with me at the NRA Annuals. Not the slightest bit pretentious; always took time to talk with a another gun person. What a speaking voice. Massad Ayoob is in the same class.

Jim was a hard-working, ethical broadcaster with a true love for the shooting sports and the Second Amendment. He was a important figure in the industry and he will be missed. Rest in Peace Jim...

I am stunned with the loss of Jim. I never met him but he was a staple in this house. As far as I am concerned, we all lost a great friend of the shooting sports. I send condolence to his family and all his friends. RIP to one of the best guys on Television that loved our sport and he will be missed forever. God Bless his family and give them strength to get through this stressful time. In Jesus name Amen !

A great human being. He will be missed. I hope his son can carry on the legacy.
