What is the smallest cartridge reamer which will clean up a 6PPC chamber?

Not sure but depending on little variations in individual reamer specs, a straight 6 Grendel. Here's a print for mine in a light turn version. It's a great little case. Problem now is finding Lapua brass. You can make it from 220R but I have yet to get it to maintain enough neck length by fire forming it with or without a bullet. It shoots fine and as long as you stay ahead of any carbon ring development, it works just fine.
A 6 Major IS a 6 Grendel. Just a necked down 6.5G. It's essentially a .070 long PPC but study this print. It's very close to cleaning up or not. It might need to be set back a thread or so but again, it's gonna depend on your chamber dimensions from there. 6BR would probably be next up but requires a different bolt face.

FWIW, I've done the ppc to Grendel conversion a few times, setting them back a thread or so but it's worked every time for me.

Another FWIW, as good as a PPC is, a straight 6 Grendel is about the only thing I think might be even better.

If you go the Grendel route and it's dedicated to 68 gr class bullets, I'd shorten the freebore to about .030-.040 from the above print. That .070 works well up to 80gr though and will work with MOST lighter bullets but some BT bullets might have very little bullet in the neck at jam.

I dont known if it's the smallest, but I've taken my 6PPC BR barrels with about .065 FB and rechambered into 6BR zero FB and then shoot another 5000 rounds on varmints...Cleans up perfectly without having to cut off any threads...simple procedure

While Sealy was doing his 6MM Wasp thing a group of us got Federal to make a small primer 30-30 cases. I think we had two lots made, probably close to 100,000 pieces total. We did it in 22, 6MM, 25, full length 7MM and full length 30 cal. for the hunter class guys. This was when Sako 220 RUSSIAN brass wasn't available.

A band saw will clean it up. It truly is always best to start fresh. Setting up on an existing set up isn’t ideal. Especially if perfect is your mind set. I’ve done it many times here in my shop but I always tell my customers that starting fresh is worth loosing an inch of barrel length

I don't have a 6 PPC reamer print, but wouldn't a 6 Grinch clean up the PPC?
Probably so but you need to check the prints. I don't have a grinch print but I'm pretty sure it's just a different shoulder angle which means the shoulder to body junction might not quite clean up. That and just the small differences between reamer specs at other places, like the .200 line for example. Won't be much difference but there could be enough either way, that it might keep it from cleaning up YOUR chamber. The prints should tell you but I wouldn't assume anything without looking closely at both prints.

I did some looking, and found a 6 PPC print to compare to my 22 Grinch & JGS 6mm Grinch prints. The Grinch is similar to the Dasher in the respect that the shoulder is blown forward from 1.0749" to 1.2063". Body dia at the body/shoulder junction is .4310" for the PPC, and .4330" for the Grinch. The PPC body dia at .200" is .4402", while the Grinch is .4405". The overall length of the PPC is 1.525", while the Grinch is 1.522". I bought a 22 Grinch reamer and have used it for a rifle I just finished, but don't have a 6 Grinch reamer (yet). My 6 RAT reamer was purchased for use in AR15 bbls; I've used it in a couple of bolt rifle barrels, and the print shows its body/shoulder junction a few thousandths longer than the Grinch.

I really would not want a slow twist BR - and have to alter the bolt face to achieve it. Wind it back and use a 6 ARC or just get a new barrel
