22 BR in Factory Tikka T3x Lite Mag?

Have a T3x Lite I want to rebarrel to 22 BR for a lightweight coyote\ walking varmint rig. 53 vmax, 55 BK, and 60 TMK are the bullets I am interested in running. I found plenty of posts about the BR case working with an AICS mag. I can't find anything about the factory mag (not the CTR mag). Anyone have success with this setup?

Several people have successfully run a 6BR from a Sako 75 magazine, have not heard anything about a T3. Hopefully someone will chime in. Would be a very good combination if it will work. Good luck.

I cannot speak on the 22BR feeding however I’ve built several Tikkas in 6BR or other variants like the DX, Dasher and BRX and even a 30BR and they have all fed without a hitch in a T3 or T3X standard detachable magazine. I hope this helps!

Years ago, I modified a 595 factory mag for a 6br cartridge. It “kinda worked “ but not great. I added a coil spring under the front of the follower. Just last week, I installed an Atlasworx bottom metal for AICS mags on a T3 223. It works fine. I tried to fit one on the 595, but it wouldn’t work. The bottom of the action would have to be opened up.
I would suggest going with the AICS set up for the modified BR magazine.

Here’s a few I could get pics of easily. 6 Dasher is the first one with the AG stock, 6BR is the pink laminated stock for a friends daughter in Oregon. @Bc'z will be painting that one for her pretty soon, last one is a 6BR.

Seems like just yesterday we were cutting up a elk, eating pizza all while sippin a lil whiskey right where Shilo's 6br sits on the table.
