300 yard Reduced 3x600 in Northern NJ

So what does the 3 x 600 actually refer to?

It’s a reduced target course of fire . Also the highest score you can achieve is 600 points so it makes sense to me so it does many other match directors as I posted for your reference

3 x 300 seems shorter and more straight forward to me.

I can see why somebody running a 3 x 200 might want to call it reduced 3 x 600 because there is no sanction for an actual 3 x 200.

It should be described as a 3x20 @ 300 yards. Under NRA rules, everyone understands that a twenty shot match is a potential two hundred points. If it was an ICFRA or US Fullbore match, it would be one hundred points for twenty shots.
