Remage barrel install using teflon tape

Does it make any difference or is it helpful to use teflon tape on barrel threads when doing a Remage install?

It’s not helpful at all to use any type of tape. Who told you to use tape.

I would use a grease or never seize.I’ve never seen anyone tape a barrel.

1. s..it always flows downhill
2. don't bite yer fingernails

Remember some plumbers are better than a bunch of gunsmith’s today.

No one suggested to use tape, after reading the bolt maintenance article on AccurateShooter, its author recommended using teflon tape on the bolt's shroud threads. It made me wonder if it would be beneficial on barrel threads.
Graphite based lube (never seize) or a waterproof grease seems reasonable.

A bolt shroud thread is not a static connection used as a seal such as a piece of pipe screwed into a coupling.

I don’t suppose Teflon tape would hurt anything with Remage looser thread tolerances and all. But I don’t think it would benefit anything either.

Key word on Teflon tape on bolt shroud is "optional" to help alignment of bolt.

this is true and alot of the reason is poor quality imported pipe. ive been there.
