The price of our toys.

Things keep going up, I walked into a gun shop in PA today. There were a lot of really nice used guns on the rack. There were 2 Rem. classics in 250-3000, 1 used & 1 NIB $1095 and $1295. Two 722's in 257 Roberts, one with an aperture sight and no rear sight, the other had both front and rear sights $895 & $1095. Very expensive.

Maybe a new thread....the price of things. High quality kitchen towels are insane. 45$ plus for cotton kitchen towels. I go to garage sales whenever I can to buy quality old stuff. I am living in the past. Remington BDLs $1500.00 and up, sometimes way more. I did pony up for two mint condition early ADLs in 222 and 22-250. a year or two ago, 700 dollar range. One of the best buys I have made in years. Makes up for the stinkers, almost.

Excuses to spend money on a hobby:

1. It's only green paper! :)

2. He who has the most toys in the end wins. :)

3. You can't take it with you so you might as well enjoy it while you can. :)

4. You only live once, once is enough if you do it right. :)

I remember in 2006 all my contractor buddies all had big RVs, bass boats, lots of toys. In 2008 most of those toys were gone and those same RVs and Bass boats weren’t worth 50% or maybe even less of what they once were. I’m a contractor too and suffered my own losses in 07-09 but survived. It’s Like watching the same movie all over again as I watch what’s going on in my area again. Housing and development is slowing but still going strong. My office is near Gateway Airport in Mesa and every 6 month more commercial and industrial square footage goes up at an alarming rate, you don’t even recognize the place.. New Apartments and subdivisions are everywhere. Guns are high, used guns are going for more than I can ever remember but all that will change when we live through another 2007 era and if you think it’s not coming I’d wager your wrong. I learned a few lessons back in 07-09, the number one lesson was debt, I got caught with too much, now I don’t have any. I still spend more than I should at times but I should be able to survive when it all goes down the toilet.

That’s my long answer above. My short answer is those prices won’t last.

I hope you are right, but I just don't see that happening... I hope I am wrong.. I'll put a note in calendar and will revisit this in 1 year..

Prices yeah uuugggghhhh.......I am in the market for a 1903 32acp. Not looking for a collector piece but one that is not a rust bucket as I wish to shoot it. Mama needs a soft shooter and i would not mind a piece of history. Prices are crazy!

Cecil, look for a Mauser HSc in 32 ACP. Neat guns. I have two Nazi marked ones, NOT for sale though.

I cannot believe the prices of firearms in general & especially machine guns. We all thought $1500 for a MAC was stupid money, now they are selling for over $10 grand, and I am not that old.
