Model 7 300BO Rebarrel Options?

I've got a Model 7 in 300BO I'd like to rebarrel into a predator/varmint rifle. I'd run about a 20" barrel.

While neat, the 300BO is really a useless cartridge to me and I could chamber to whatever I want on the lathe.

I have a 1:8 twist 22 barrel on hand and plenty of 223 brass and 22 caliber bullets which leads me to lean toward a 223ai but I'm not sure how well the 223ai will feed out of my staggered feed M7? I'd hate to rebarrel to 223ai only to have it feed like trash. I could go straight 223 but what fun is that?

I'm open to suggestions. Killing groundhogs, fox, and coyote from 50-300 yards.

300 bo uses same case as 223 and 223ai. Feeding I think should be fine. Maybe look for a bottom metal that would use ar mags and maybe slightly alter barrel feed ramp. Maybe

20VT is a fun cartridge, very accurate and would be fine at 50-300 yds, with a 32 grain bullet about 3600-3700 fps. The 20 Practical could give you more distance with speed, shooting a 40 grain about 3700. Very similar to the 204 Ruger in ballistics, but brass is cheap as your LC 5.56. Easy to convert 223 to 20P, that's why it's called practical.

My choice is a 6x204 throated for 95gr SMK's , it just so happens that throating is perfect for 87gr VMAX also and shoots the 75gr VMAX well also. You can do a 6x45AI also. Both will feed just fine.
