Pristine actions

I had a friend ask me what I thought about pristine actions. I told him I had never heard of them and to search on accurate shooter see what he could find. Well we both struck out on the the search feature. Anybody have any feedback on their actions ? Thanks

Ok. Must be new on the market. Let’s try this route. Any concerns with buying a zermatt/ bighorn origin action ? I like the option to be able swap bolt heads as well as to buy savage prefits. Would a TL3 be worth the extra cost just for the integral recoil lug ? I’m tracking down my first custom/semi custom action and taking opinions. Want to stay at the $1000 dollar mark. Thanks dudes

I have no first hand experience with pristine but there was a few things I wasn’t a fan off at shot show. Now that said, I heard they are taking feedback and making changes with a lot of changes already made so it could be significantly better then at shot.

The origins are very popular for a reason, that said I do prefer my kelbly atlas tac to my tl3 and to my buddies tenacity and it falls into the price range of the origin. Worth a look for sure!

I'm in the same boat, trying to consider which custom to go with for my first build. I had not heard of Pristine until you posted, but after looking at their website, between the two, I would go with the origin for the simple reason that it has been in market for a while and is tested. The Pristine is priced at $1299. For that cash, I do not want to be the beta tester.

That's my noob opinion if I were to pick a custom with a floating bolt head. However, in reality, if I wanted a floating bolt head I probably would just go with a Savage and have it blueprinted and see if the recoil lug could be pinned or upgraded. I would go with a savage if I could get all that done for $600 or below including the gunsmithing. This is assuming I was patient enough to wait for the gunsmithing to be done :)

However, if a floating bolt head was not important, I would just go with a BAT igniter or a Borden Alpine/Timberline, or a Pierce. I"m leaning towards the Pierce or BAT

I was in that boat a few years ago.
I made a list of the features I wanted and then picked the action that fit those well and appealed to me(an ARC Nucleus) there’s so many actions now it’s getting more difficult to choose.
Zermatt was well up on my list as well.

I really like CRF and mechanical ejection, swappable boltface was also a factor.
DLC or nitride was important.
I also preferred a three lug action.
At the time of purchasing savage threads was a priority but now that I’m cutting my own barrels it’s not.

Integrated rail and lug weren’t high priorities.

I’ll have to look into the pristine actions.

For a company with a new action their marketing pictures aren’t too impressive. Looks like a lot of drag on the firing pin. And they sure didn’t post pristine pics.

I have Bighorn TL3 that I have had a few different barrels on that same action. 7 SAUM AI, 6 Creedmoor and now 6 BRA. All 3 barrels and 2 different bolts have all produced outstanding accuracy and consistency. I recently bought the 223 bolt face at some point I’m planning to spin up a 223 barrel for it.

That’s the nice feature of being able to change boltface easily, I can run all these on same action.

I agree 100%. When I bought my 2nd Nucleus which is a Gen2 I ordered a .473 bolthead assembly for when I want to change from the. 223 Remington that I'm currently running to the .308 family.
My first Nucleus is a 1.1. I believe the 1.1 is a little different in the bolthead parts for starters.
Every once in a while you can find bolthead assemblies on the net for sale unused, at a good price.

All of that “new” innovation and probably still making the action body out of 416R stainless.

Is that correct?

also, are we just assuming the 6 small lugs are stronger than two large ones?

I just dont see the value of $1300 in that action. Floating bolt head with 6 lugs? No integral recoil lug. Bolt lugs same diameter as bolt body, all this copy about ease of machining and charging a premium price.
