Help with Statistics Project

I'm currently working on a statistics project that analyzes long-range shooting precision and I'm hoping to find someone who can help me gather data for my research. Specifically, I'm looking for someone who can shoot 100 rounds on paper from a benchrest rifle or rail gun for me to analyze. I am working on gathering the same data from several rifles in my collection, but I don't have access to a benchrest style rifle or setup.

The purpose of my project is to create a complete statistical model that predicts the precision of a rifle. I believe that this information could be incredibly valuable to the shooting community, and I'm excited to dive into the analysis.

If anyone is interested in helping me out, I'd be happy to provide you with more information about the project and answer any questions you may have. Please let me know if you're interested or if you know someone who may be able to help. I'm eager to get started on this project and would greatly appreciate any assistance that I can get.

Thank you in advance for your help!

are you going to control the enviroment for this project ?
go read the results from top matches...because they are shot in the open enviroment
long range DATA needs to be collected at LONG RANGE

Have you considered indoor 50y rimfire data? While the ballistics aren’t the same as centerfire, the ask is far easier and cost more reasonable. I guess it depends on which variables you are studying.

Also, are you going to pay for the ammo? It's going to be close to $100 for 100 rounds.
Does it matter whether the ammo is factory or handloads?

I would be willing to cover the cost of ammo if that would make the difference. I'm assuming handloads, this data requires as much precision as possible.

Just trying to understand here....
you're going to test a couple of your non bencherest style rifles and without "benchrest setup" and compare 100 rounds of data of some stranger's data and extrapolate the precision capabilities of rifles for the "community"?

The problem with this is going to be the capability of the shooter; the quality of the load tune; the environmental conditions; etc.
Unless you can control all the variables, the result can not be validated.
You might want to research the data generated by the "Houston warehouse testing" that was done in the late 70's and early 80's and modernize the results.
This is no easy or inexpensive task, but anything less than removing all variables is going to leave the shooting community with as many questions as answers.

I would encourage you to not solicit advice on how to perform the test and instead perform it and post results. You cannot please even half the audience here regardless of what you do, so make sure the test has value to you first and foremost.

Other than that, feel free to PM me about what you’d like the shooter to do and I’ll see how it fits in with what I like to do. If it fits, you don’t need to pay me to do it.
