What is your favorite 6mm bullet for Prairie Dogs?

There were several questions asked. This is a Savage bolt action rifle. Twist is 1 in 9". I also have a .223 A.I. so I wanted something for shots to about 300 yards, or a bit more. Looking for 70 grain or more. Have not compared B.C. yet. These are great ideas. Now the fun is finding any of them!

You will loose some “splat factor” and lift from hydraulics the heavier you go and further past 300.
For colony varmints, I switch up when I quit getting “lift”. 6mm I go small, medium, large 6TCU, 6BR and 6CM, same on 17 and 20’s.
I can use the same bullet in some applications. The 6mm is a bit harder to find a bullet that the 6TCU/AI will splat things all the time, most bullets were geared around a factory cartridge and the 243 being smallest 6mm for years it had plenty of HP to do most anything.

My favorite pd bullet by far, is the long gone Hornady 70 gr SXSP. These little pills made for some of the most acrobatic and red mist outings.....I sure miss them.:(
Are you certain they were not just relabeled.

I went and looked, the .224’s are still around but no SXSP of any weight for 6mm.
There were some varmint marked bullets, but 87’s.

68 grain Berger in my 6x45, I was shooting the sierra #1515 on yotes but the Berger cut what was an already small group in half. They’ve been good performers on vermin too. I always try my favorite bullets first but if improved accuracy is found elsewhere I don’t mind switching.

105 AMAX. Given the rate I'm shooting them and the fact I stocked up about 1500 when they were discontinued, I've probably got 2-3 years before trying the 105 ELD.

The 87 VMAX works great too, just not the BC.

Bought some 68 gr Myers off this site last year. Just worked up a load and shit this today in windy conditions. Not sure how a grass filled varmint will respond to them.

I had my 6-284 built with a 12tw I've pretty much exclusively shot the 75gr Vmax through it. They shoot extremely well for me and do a number on everything coyote size and smaller. They're definitely, NOT, fur friendly. :)

I can’t find a pic but took out a field rat with them as well. Wife was laughing saying I missed. I found the “crater” and laying to one side was the tail and about a 1/2 dollar sized pice of “rump” remainder of rat has yet to be located. Apparently vaporized.
Most destructive projectiles I’ve ever used.
