Help with Grendel & alliant pp2000mr

Does anyone have experience with Alliant power pro 2000mr in 6.5 Grendel ? How temp sensitive is it ? I used Speer data for a 120 grain gold dots , but used a 123 grain Amax bullet . Speer data states that a 120gr GD should get to 2620fps with max load (31.4gn). I figured since I was loading 123gr that I should at least get to 2550 with their max load data after a work up . My magnetospeedV3 showed fastest shot at 2420 and slowest 2402 in my 24" Lilja barrel . My reloads were straight out of my 65 degree heated shed . Outside temp was 55 . I load 2 other calibers and never had a difference in powder load data this big from stated velocity to mine . Can a 3 grain bullet weight difference make this much of a difference in velocity? Im using Hornady brass, cci 450 primers bullet seated at mag length . Speer doesn't state bullet depth on the pdf .

Did you try the 120's with alliant pro? Im doing some now @ 30.gn

Did you look at the barrel length used for testing vs your barrel length?
Or the difference in twist rates?

Also going from a plated Speer Gold Dot to a jacketed A Max will be different.

That powder is way too slow use in that cartridge. GRT shows only about 85% of the powder burning out in the barrel with the 123.

CFE233 and Leverevolution have similar burn rates and are popular in that caliber.

This is using case defaults.

GRT gives 100% case fill with 27.8 gr 2000MR and 2402 fps in a 24" barrel with the 123 A-Max. Pressure is estimated at ~41KSI.

The burnt propellent is listed at 84.8%.

Note the Gold Dot is 0.100" inches shorter than the A-Max

Personally, I would not run 2000MR with a compressed charge.

Hope you have plenty Amax in case you like the results...Hornady discontinued those bullets awhile back.

Im testing 30.gn of it with 120 GD's but im gona hold off a wait for the new brass now that I read this...to dangerous on 3rd reloads.

Im using 22" JP barrel 1:8 twist, I'll loose 20-40 fps but its already slow. Im looking for sub moa around 2475-2500 fps
