Ammo boxes for heavy bullet .223

After a 20 year break I am loading the rest of my stash of JLK 90 grain bullets for .223 PALMA and I need some new ammo boxes that will protect rounds loaded to 2.600" and longer. What are you using these days? Looking for 100 round boxes..... Currently looking at the various .243\.308 boxes.

Also using MTM .308 Win boxes here, with something like a 1/4" to 3/8" foam rubber liner in the roof. The bullet noses of my very longest .223 Rem rounds (~2.7"-ish) might just barely touch the foam. It keeps them from rattling around, but does not cause any issues with altering seating depth.

Well that settles it…. I found a couple MTM .308 50 round boxes with 6 comp match brass in in them. I don’t know if/when i might get another barrel chambered for 6 comp match so ill give that brass a good cleaning and store it away.

I might get creative and make a couple nice wooden ammo boxes. (Well who an I kidding, I cant get all of my current projects finished. Not gonna start a new one. I have two rifles that i need to finish the inlet and bedding.

I'm using the plastic boxes found on ebay Branded as Berry's for my 223 and I'm seated out to 2.90" with both Sierra MK and Barnes Match Burners. Boxes close easily.

Dave's boxes are top notch, and he will work with you if you need anything special, but they are a bit on the pricey side for just storage boxes. Great for taking to a match though.
