25 Cal, 133 or 135 Berger

I built a 25 CM and was looking for input on what others have seen for accuracy with the 133 or 135 Berger. Besides BC have you seen a difference in accuracy from the two bullets. Is one liked more than the other, and why?

I haven't tried the 133 gr., but the 135 gr. is capable of very good accuracy. A couple months ago I tuned them up and shot 4 3-shot groups of the same charge at 1,000 yards that agg'd about 2.7". Velocity was 2980-2985 fps.

What cartridge???

Was looking to see if anyone found one or the other to shoot a bit better.
The 133gr ELITE HUNTER BULLET IS FOR HUNTING. The 135 LRHT IS FOR TARGET. So, two different "tools' here for different jobs. In regards to which one will "shoot better" Your rifle decides that. So you have to test. Either bullet can be used for target. But we suggest using only the 133 ELITE HUNTER for hunting.

Here's my experience with the 133s. I finished my 25-284 two years ago. Started with those and the 131 BJ bullets. Both shot one tiny hole groups with identical powders and charges. Tiny but only 3 shot groups as I was seeing which bullet gave best results. Then I tried the 135s and they too were very accurate. Same groups but different impact location that the 131/133. The 131/133 printed groups inside each other's. I haven't killed anything with the 133s yet but did kill a big doe with the 135s with excellent results. This was actually accidental as I had one magazine loaded for my coyote hunts and the other for deer. I had the gun zeroed for coyotes last December and had the 135s in the mag with the rifle thinking they were the 133s from my November deer hunt. They killed two coyotes wonderfully. Very destructive for sure. The deer I killed with that 135 also died rapidly. .25 caliber entrance hole, half dollar exit thru ribs. Destroyed lungs and dispatched the deer instantly. Like the 140 ELDs I use, they performed equally as well. I'll test the 133s this November for sure on a deer.

Have you done any testing to determine the effectiveness of the 135 for hunting? I have seen this bullet perform very well on game. I understand your position to advocate bullets used for hunting say "hunting" on the box. But the original Berger hunting bullets were just rebranded target bullets that someone else tested. This was/is posted on Berger's web site. Another "target" bullet is the .308 215 Hyb. target, I and many others have used this bullet extensively and it is the finest elk killing bullet in existence. It is chronically out of stock, with a large portion of them being purchased by hunters.

Don’t be afraid of using hybrid target bullets in game. I use 180 hybrid targets out of my 7 SAW and get great performance out of them.
