6×45 trim length

What are you guys trimming ur 6×45 to? I ask since there is not much published data on this. I found sierra says max at 1.760 and trim to 1.750, same as a 223. But berger says max length at 1.770 trim to 1.760. Im still playing with this round and have a good load figured out. I was just looking at the berger book when i saw that difference. I have been trimming to 1.750 already.

I trim to 1.750, as you know its a necked up 223 case, not a 556 case.
Least ways thats the way I understand it.

What would the difference be, if one used a 5.56x45 case?

I've used 556 cases, but trimmed them to 1.750 before chamfer and expanding neck.
Then there is the crimped pocket to contend with not thats its a big issue but its there
223 max length 1.760 trim to 1.750
556 max length 1.770 trim to 1.760

This was written from memory and before my 1st cup of coffee.
Pots done!!

I wish i had the reamer print, i rented it instead of buying one
Call them.

Trouble though, with rented stuff, is that it mayyyy not match the print anymore. Just depends.

They dont take phone calls. I ran into this trying to rent the reamer. I delt with 4d rentls. It went smooth but was not told there could be a Delay if someone else has the reamer. Took 3 emails for them to get back to me. I waited 1 month after purchase before got ahold of omeone.

5.56 and .223 cases have same max length (1.76") and trim to length (1.75")
I use a mixture of both in two 6X45 gas guns. if they measure less than 1.76" I load them up. No problems so far

I stand corrected on length.
Thank you

I trim to 1.745 once and call it good.

By the time it needs trimming again, the primer pocket is toast, the necks have split or I have lost them.
