Shipping Ammo to NY State

New York has had stringent firearms laws for years.

We went to an IBS Nationals back in 2002 in Canastoda NY. We all were formed that no transactions or advertising was allowed.

Skip Otto, a rather colorful character, started hanging advertisements for his line of products. The Match Director told him he could not. Skip, in his usual fashion, said he would do damned well what he pleased. And he did.

Right up until the County Sheriff tapped him on the shoulder.
Real nice guy calling the sheriff.

Ammo seems to be the only issue right now in this shithole state. It's just a matter of time before they go after reloaders. I'm sure there's any already someone whispering Cunty Whorecul's ear that any common citizen can make their own ammo in under 8 seconds.
I dont think ammo is the only issue. I remember mark serbu telling the state troopers he wont sell them 50cals because their citizens cant have them. I remember the NY compliant AR conversions too. Most are leaving due to taxes though i imagine.

Residents are leaving for more reasons than I can count on two hands. It's become like California's little brother. We got rid of one asshole governor just to get one who, I can't believe I'm saying this, makes the first on look appealing. Now they want to ban all natural gas use statewide in a state where we have a huge dependence in gas. I'm on the fence about staying here myself.

You shouldn't have to be on the fence. Your snowstorms where u live are second to none. That's reason enough to leave.

No one wants to blame themselves in political matters, look at Chicago. Vote out LL, but both of the options is even more marxist. At some point the team players have to stop blaming the coach and accept the way they play is losing games. And change, win at all costs, children are worth it.

It's easy to say, just leave N.Y. What you're leaving, is even less Shooters to fight the fight. Having said that, "I'm leaving". Just had enough. Upstate is beautiful, the people are great! More gun laws coming, more taxes coming and I'm leaving! SAD!

Jackie. I belong to the IBS Club you shot at in N.Y. All the Bench Rest Shooters are gone. Internal fighting!

Just move out of the state will solve that problem
Really? What a simple solution. There's a group on this site that life has been really good to. They travel a thousand miles to a match. Others feel certain products are not really very good (RCBS) and have the finances to buy Premium dies, whatever that might be. I live in upstate NY. The real-estate taxes that one imagined was the main reason for the exodus is, once again, poorly informed. Long Island and one county have insane taxes and that's where the departure started some years ago. September 11, another cause.
I've looked at various other states. Long way from where they used to be that's for sure.
I don't like NY politics but when you need the very best in health care or a top notch Veterans system you'll find yourself stuck here. The crime wave in NYC is a national disgrace on top of it all.
But.....life hasn't been so kind to everyone, and I'm happy it has been for this select group, just don't think for one damn second your privileged highfalutin life is like everyone else.

That NY graphic is misleading. NY has adopted many of their anti T2A laws with a “GOP” support in the legislature. Living in NH the last few yrs has introduced me to NY “conservatives”. They are only slightly right of the genuine Marxist types.

HA - your southern neighbor has a Senator that's in a nut house (surprise- surprise) and getting full pay- with his lesbo wife waiting in the wings for the Gov. to appoint her to fill in. That's 2 senators (incl) Feinstein and 1 POtuS that are OBVIOUSLY mentally incapacitated -all "specially selected" by the party with "feelings" who "really care" about "the people."
Anyone see the newsclip of schumer with a deathgrip on bidens arm so he wouldn't fall over? His meds are not hiding his dementia anymore other than very short term.....and they think they can win with this guy- beam me up----now.

Now that I'm retired, I've thought about leaving Long Island a few times. However, when your children and grandchildren are well rooted here and all of your siblings remain within easy driving distance, it's pretty hard to pull up stakes and just move to a more conservative state. Would my wife and I be happier living alone in another state and distant from ALL of the family? Not hardly.

About the only good thing here for us is the state's tax provisions for (some) retirees. There is NO NYS tax on our:
1. Public pensions
2. SS income(s)
3. Investments which are state tax exempt
4. 457 plan (taxes deferred until funds are withdrawn)

My total state tax liability this year ; ZERO $$$
