22 Creedmoor Velocities

I've had it up to my neck with a few "22 Creedmoor" groups that I've looked at online.

People are going to blow themselves up.

I'm going to have a 22 Creedmoor built and I'm looking for some real world use of this cartridge.....powders used, bullet used, barrel twist/make/length.

My rifle will be an 8 twist, finished at 20". I use the 75 Berger in my 22-250ai right now at 3235. I'm guessing I'll gain a bit of velocity with the creed....don't care if I do.

I'd like some info on what guys are using for powders in any length barrel and if you're comfortable posting it, your load. I'm not a reloading dummy so I won't run to the bench and expect it to work in mine.

Thanks in advance!

With running the 75g Berger vld's and a 8 tw. you shouldn't have any issues with bullet blow-ups.
You won't be able to run a much heavier or longer bullet and still maintain stability and BC
Had good luck using RL23 in mine. Ran a 26 inch barrel and a 7 tw.

I use 6.5 staball with 88 eldm’s and 90 bergers and has done pretty good for 600yd local bench. I’ll look up the loads in a bit but think it’s around 3150ish. 7 twist criterion barrel

Rem 40x, 8twist kreiger finished at 28 inch.

I just finished chambering a 22 Creedmoor for a buddy a few days ago. He had a Rock Creek M24 1:7.5 finished at 22". Straightest blank I have ever had in my lathe. Makes me wonder if well known smiths and competition shooters get better blanks. He bought it as a PRS competitor. Curious on how it performs.

Anybody have a print for PTG reamer PT# 40193 Rev A? ***** edit ***** PT&G sent a print

Id bet you can stabilize 88s out to infinity with your 8 twist. May compromize a little BC but for the gains on bullet BC it would pay back well above. Enjoy your project! If you have not ordered your barrel already get that brux offering with the .001 over on bore. That was the first barrel I got real mileage out of in PRS without blowing bullets up.

Your 22250AI is so close in relation to the creed I think you could easily start with those loads.

I'm pushing 80gr ELD-M 3650 from a 22-243 Improved with a Krieger 8tw finished at 28 and no issues with them holding together.

I tried Peterson and Alpha brass in both of my custom 6.5 CM's as well as my 22 CM. Neither brand of brass can be loaded near the load charges that I use in my Lapua or Starline brass without pressure issues.
I use necked down Starline 6mm CM SRP brass with my 22 CM, and my go to load with 75gr ELD-M bullets is 43.2 gr of H4350. Velocity avg. is 3489 fps out of a suppressed 1-7 twist 20" X-Caliber barrel on an ARC Nucleus action.
Bolt opens with one finger, brass always looks great, primer's always look great, and it shoots pretty dang good if I'm doing my part.
