Way better. Smooth solid power. Havent plugged mine into a wall outlet in years. Rock steady readings
I want to convert my A&D 120i / auto throw / autotrickler setup over to battery power.
Can you suggest how this can be done? I have no idea what I’d need to buy or hook up to get away from the wall power that can be flakey from day to day.

It should be easy enough use a battery for the A&D 120i, but beware that it's polarity is opposite that of cables that come with most batteries, the + and - are reversed. It operates off of the same 12v and plugs that a Chargemaster does, but the cables are not the same. Cables can be purchased that reverse the polarity, but they need to be marked so they aren't used for most other things.

How could you ever know this unless someone told you?? Just curious. I was thinking of running it off of the flashfish battery setup like Bart did. This way I can just plug it into the flashfish using the same wall wort it came with that I use now, correct?

If Bart posted it, I would have no reason to think his way wouldn't work. I hadn't seen it

THIS APPLIES TO LITHIUM ION BATTERIES and using 12v cables directly from the battery.
I don't recall where I learned to check the + and -, but somewhere I had seen a reference to the difference of the two units. I have a Chargemaster Lite and the A&D, and wanted to use a battery. I knew the battery would work with the Chargemaster Lite and figured it would work with the A&D also. It does. It's easy enough to check out though. The voltages for the Chargemaster and the A&D are the same 12V. Use a volt meter and check the voltage of the Positive and the Negative and you will see that the center post of one is Positive and on the other unit the center post is Negative. That's why you need different supply cords to reverse the Polarity. I'm pretty sure the units are marked with symbols regarding + and -. I use this battery and it seems to work well. It's about $40.00 from Amazon.

I don't mean to question your answer, but probably not. The A&D unit has a reversed polarity from most common things. I will admit that I'm not familure with Barts set up and how the + and - are arranged on the supply unit he uses and it is possible there is a switch to reverse the polarities. It may even come reversed, I don't know. But, most batteries are set up a standard way in the US.

I looked at Barts post and then looked at the battery he was using, so I wish to correct some of what I posted.

Dusty is probably right that using the method Bart used will work. (Sorry Dusty) It will work using the 110 Volt outlet from the battery pack.
The unit Bart used also has provisions for a 12 Volt cigarette lighter outlet. The 12 Volt polarity outlet would need to be reversed as I suggested when using it.
The references I had described applied to using a lithium ion battery pack.

The way bart does it is plug in the standard wall wart to a battery pack with a 110v outlet. Its no different than doing it to a wall outlet, so if im wrong then it wouldnt work at your house.

You are correct. Sorry
I had not reads Barts method and what he was using.
I've corrected what I previously said. ( I hope I haven't screwed it up too much.)

My reply had been based on my experience using a 12 volt lithium ion battery pack.
