Lapua Long Range

There may be something of P.T. Barnum in this ammo. He is associated with the claim "there's a sucker born every minute". He was also someone who believed in telling people what they wanted to hear and he was obsessed with being the best.

With that in mind, perhaps Lapua is simply giving many shooters what they seem to be asking for, which is match ammo at higher velocities than usual with standard velocity match .22LR.

There's a market for quality, faster .22LR ammo and Lapua is trying to fill it (notwithstanding that it may not perform any better than existing Lapua).

Unfortunately, if Lapua hasn't increased production capacity, there won't be more ammo available than previously.

For the price, you push a button on your computer console, there is a swish sound at the range and a report on the intercom the target was hit at a range of mega miles.

Actually, the price isn't that bad. Long range is priced about like Midas + and extreme long range is priced about like X-act.

I wonder if it will be any better than SK long range? (Same product family).
Lapua and SK are made on different production lines using different loading machines. Other than using similar-looking components, they should be as different as Lapua CX and M+ usually are from the best SK. Like any match ammo, the performance of the new varieties of Lapua will vary by lot.

I highly doubt that Lapua would market a new ammo without testing it first and having the performance to match what they are doing for 3-P and RFBR.
but if it doesn't shoot in your rifles better look at your rifles first before condemning the ammo.

I have it on good authority that Lapua added a whole new line for the Long Range and Super Long Range for what that’s worth. I figure what with new machines should come tighter tolerances. It might be okay for BR if it is t too fast. Or I might be buying ammo that they used to tune the machines with.

I sold a Falcon UL to a shooter who wanted to get into ARA UL the rifle was tuned using CX he used Biathlon X to place 3rd behind probably 2 of the top 20-25 ARA shooters. so, you never know till you try.

Am I missing something.
The Long Range and Super Long Range have the same bullet B.C. and velocity.
What is the difference? Besides price and name.
