I fully restored my dads 742 30-06. He and i both have killed a ton with it and its never jammed once. Its the only one ive ever seen with no checkering on the grip and a corncob forend. He was disappointed that i restored it because he bought it wore out, but he understands why i did it. Same with his fully restored model 11 remington shotgunIt is an adventure. A few times I actually said " I wish dad would have just bought a M1 Garand", lol.
But, as a kid I was always fascinated with my dads 30.06.
Whay about it Dusty, do you know if all the m742 bolts are the same size?I fully restored my dads 742 30-06. He and i both have killed a ton with it and its never jammed once.
