Browning a bolt issue

I have an issue in 2004 05 I purchased a Browning varmint stalker in 243 wssm( I know not a great move) its been mostly a safe queen I decided to shoot yesterday with my reloads ( not hot at all ) anyway after first shot I went to eject empty bolt was stiff and when I opened it the case was stuck. Took my cleaning rod to remove stuck case and it still wouldn't come out. I inspected the bolt and noticed one of the lugs broke off and was still engaged in the chamber. I researched this issue and found there was a recall due to catastrophic action failure. I called Browning service dept and they wanted me to return rifle on my dime and my rifle isn't included in the recall and is out of warrany.
I am confident in my reloads and even pulled some bullets to insure all was correct, I realize there still COULD have been a issue there but I am confident on my procedure. My question is have any of you ever heard about such a bolt failure or the recall? Thanks for taking the time to read this
 
How close to max are you . Have you checked the load data to other books ? Some companies will not warranty a firearm that has been shot with any reloads . See if you can find the warranty card or any literature for your rifle . Just check if therany wording like that . I’m sure they would be interested in checking the bolt and receiver BUT may just want the info on your dime and refuse any $ settlement or fix .

If i'm sending a rifle back for warranty repair, it's gonna be on THEIR dime!!!
 
Is the missing lug holding the case in the chamber still?

If that case shows pressure it's not likely they'll do anything for you. If not, you may get some sympathy.

If it was me, I'd want to look the case over.

Did the missing lug affect the extractor?

If there's nothing holding the case in, a stuck case extractor is your best choice but you can also put a couple ounces of diesel, soapy water....etc in the bore and feed a tight patch down the bore and give it a few taps. This has worked for me when the rim ripped off and is a lot easier than pulling the tube.
 
Sounds like something is seriously wrong and serious pressure issues,especially shearing a lug off.i would send it back if there wasn't anything wrong with my reloads and would be interested to see if there was a manufacturing fault.if there was I don't think they will tell you the full story.

The rifle was junk when it was new. Unfortunately the Browning of the last 30 years is nothing like those before them.
 
I did disclose it was a reload to Browning not hot at all , not comfortable publishing data but would say its in the middle of data for 70gr nosler bt . Ive used load many times and no extractor marks or tight bolt slight cratering on primer . All my loads showed the same crater I believe its a heavy primer stike from firing pin . Load did not seem any different from others .
Yes the broken lug is stuck in action holding case in extractor I believe also, they will recieve it Wednesday I guess we'll have 20230115_142904.jpgto wait. I will update when I find anything out if they believe I f'ed it up I guess its on me but I feel very confident that it wasn't my reloads. As you can see in photo I do flatten my primers slightly when seating
