Hornet/K-Hornet Small Pistol Primer Thoughts

I purchased a Kimber 82 in a K-Hornet, have formed, prepped 100 cased, getting ready load and was seeing if there was any updated info from some of you about using small pistol primers instead of SR, any thoughts or experiences would be appreciated, thanks Fella's

Most likely using H-110 or Lil-gun

I use small pistol primers as well (hornet)
seen to do ok but haven't really noticed a big difference
K hornet may be different though

I use Rem 6-1/2 small rifle primers in my CZ527. They seem to work pretty well. I believe they are a pretty soft primer, perhaps the same as a pistol primer.

I struggled with my 1885 rechamber to k-hornet. Very finicky and difficult to find a load for forming and formed. Forming load with 40 gr vmax end up using H110 and cci 500, and formed with same bullet, Lilgun with cci 450. Crazy…

Initially, both of my K's (Contender carbine) I found Lil Gun and CCI SR to work best, followed closely by same primer and 1680.

I tried 6 1/2's and pistol primers and found no discernable difference in any event.

I eventually found LilGun to be as touchy as a cat with PMS. I finally went with 1680 because LG was spiking pressures for no good reason, no matter what I did. Some guys love it. I didn't trust it. Refer to cat analogy...

I found with LilGun, I was getting huge swings in fps with cci small pistol primers. Went with cci450 and much more consistent. Rem6 1/2 worked well with 1680 powder. Testing some MP300 with the 450's now.

I use sp primers all the time with the .22H. I have used Lilgun almost always. I have used A1680 with no issues either. I get 1/2" groups with 40 vmax, in my Savage 40 so I am happy.

Plus one on the Rem 6&1/2 primers. I get mt best SD with them. Can be hard to find.
