6.5 Berger 140 hybrid vs 144 LRHT

I have been unable to find the 140s but have some 144s. I note the bearing surface is longer and wonder what experience members have had loading with the 144s.

I am running the 144s in my .260 Ackley. I used Sierra max loads for the 142 and worked up. They shoot amazing.

I'd second that. Using them in a 6.5 SLR out to a 1000 yards with excellent results. Running them at around 2820.

VV-N560 works good with the 144 gr. Bergers in my 260AI. Max. load in my rifle was 48.0 gr. but you will need to work up your load.

Will do. I think I only have a pound of VV-N560. Did you try h4350 or 4831sc?

I tried H-4350 but it was not as good as VV-N560 with that particular bullet but overall both my Hunter and BR 260AIs shoots best with H-4350 with other 140 gr. class bullets.

My 260 load is 47.5 of 4831sc cci250 lap brass for 2813fps 24" on my tikka tact A1 .

Yes in my 6.5 PRC. 55gr takes the 144 to around 3000 fps without any pressure signs in a 26" barrel. 3100+ is very doable, but I use a mild load for reliability in all weather conditions.
