Vudoo V22 S single feed?

How does the Vudoo single shot feed? I’m thinking of building a silhouette rifle and was just curious if anybody had done the same

It's a PITA...not anything like dropping a .284 Shehane cartridge in my Barnard RH port F-Open rifle and closing the bolt when ready.

Rather, I elevate my Center-X so that it is easily secured with my fingers from the manufacturer's plastic ammo tray. Then gently remove a cartridge holding it by its rim, and ever so carefully guiding it to the RH port and carefully inserting it onto the VuDoo feed tray. Then carefully pushing it forward into the chamber with my thumb until it reaches the lans. Thereafter carefully closeing the bolt.

I prefer to load just like danny is describing, by pushing each round into the chamber until the bullet engages the lands in the leade of the chamber. I love my V22S rifles - one set up for 22RF BR in a Kestros stock, the other one for smallbore prone in a Doan Trevor English walnut prone stock.

But if I were shooting 22RF metallic silhouette, I'd probably go with a lighter action, because of the weight limitations in the rules. I think that's one of the big reasons Anschutz singe shot & repeater actions are so popular with 22RF MS shooters. Personally, I went with a re-barreled CZ457, using a Shilen ratchet blank that I did some contour work on, and chambered with an EPS reamer. I didn't build this rifle with weight limits in mind, as I've never shot an organized RF MS match, and it's a good 1/2lb to heavy to make sporter weight limits...but it sure shoots good enough to be competitive, and I like the feel of the CZ American stock in offhand.

I see what you mean about possibly weighing too much. I found some pictures in another thread and that’s one thick walled son of a gun. I also saw what Danny was saying about the “ tray”. Great idea. I already have a Anschutz 54 silhouette gun but being the guy that always needs a project, I was pondering another build. I start thinking about” buy American” and research my options…….

I got my V22 S for Xmas. Since I am left-handed & the rifle is left bolt/right port I can look in the loading port as I place the round as Biggs states. BTW, Danny is a teammate of mine on Team Berger.

The V22S is a great action for smallbore silhouette, especially if you prefer your smallbore silhouette rifle to match your high power silhouette rifles like I do. My Current silhouette hunter rifle is built off of a Holeshot Trident. According to Jerry Stiller the action weighs 30oz. The V22S according to Vudoo is 27oz. I'm just waiting for my stock to be finished and then I'll be trying out my new V22S as a standard rifle this year and see if shooting two guns makes any difference. If not then I'll screw on a hunter profile barrel and shoot it in both classes. The Anschutz 54.18 action with magazine and trigger is 29.4oz so about the same as a V22S with Bixn' Andy Trigger. I would definitely give the people at Vudoo a call!

The V22 is a fantastic action. I chamber several a year here in my shop for my customers. Other than the stiller 2500 there isn’t anything better. The stiller isn’t even better just a bit different. Both fantastic action. Spin up a shilen ratchet or a mueller and go compete with confidence!
