I haved used this method for decades, it is simple and almost foolproof. -If you remove the action from the stock how do you get the action screw tension back to where it was?
Thank you, I will try thisI haved used this method for decades, it is simple and almost foolproof. -
Before removing the acion screws put a small dot of fingernail polish on the screw and a small dot on the escuthion or triggerguard. When installing the screws simply line up the dots and you are back where the screws were originally tightened to.
Trying to measure breaking torque using a torque wrench will give a false reading -
"In short, it takes less torque to loosen a threaded fastener than it does to tighten it, because the pitched threads act like an inclined plane. Tightening the fastener is like pushing "uphill;" loosening it is like pulling "downhill."

will lighter fluid hurt the stock in anyway?Lighter fluid works great!
isn't that a lot of torgue fo a laminated stock on a 22lr ?Take it out of the Stock .
Lighter Fluid , can of spray Air .
Torque the Screws 50-60 in lbs .
Good Shooting
I would think so, especially if it doesn’t have pillars. I generally torque my non-pillar wooden stocks to 25-30 in/lbs.isn't that a lot of torgue fo a laminated stock on a 22lr ?
Ball Park Number just for General Information?isn't that a lot of torgue fo a laminated stock on a 22lr ?
yes, no, maybe. - It all depends on the material the stock is made of and the finish on the stock.will lighter fluid hurt the stock in anyway?
Depends on the pillar material even if it is. Some 22's use a polymere pillar. 26in/lbs is recccomended max on CZ'sI would think so, especially if it doesn’t have pillars. I generally torque my non-pillar wooden stocks to 25-30 in/lbs.
Why do you feel the need to clean the trigger? Is it malfunctioning in some way?On a Savage MK II how do you clean the trigger? Is it necessary to remove the action from the stock?

no it just seems the pull weight has increased slightlyWhy do you feel the need to clean the trigger? Is it malfunctioning in some way?
Just my thought. I would think the increase is due to creep on an adjustment screw rather than dirt in the trigger. Only you can tell or check this. Good luck.no it just seems the pull weight has increased slightly
