Defiance actions

Kind of disappointing , built my first custom (100%) rifle on a Defiance Deviant action about a year ago.. The extractor was screwed up, gunsmith called and said it would not go over the case rim. Sent bolt back to Defiance, and it was fixed. Not a big deal, but when I pay north of $1200.00 for an action, I expect it to be 100% functional from the get go. I will be going to either Borden or Bat action for my next build , because of the Defiance buy out. Never was impressed with Beck, he seemed to be a legend in his own mind.....hope the quality stays with the actions, but we have all been victims of the "new, and improved" marketing schemes... rsbhunter

I agree, choice is a good thing to a point, but I wish that they made all the actions capable of swapping barrels without being fitted. I love my Deviant, but , in the event the quality does become questionable, Borden or Bat will be my go to...rsbhunter

I recently contacted Defiance to get specs on a 10 year old action for the purpose of a stock inlet. They delivered 110%. I own numerous Defiance actions and have been completely satisfied with all of them. Anyone taking the time to look into the recent acquisition of Defiance should appreciate that without it, Defiance Machine would likely have ceased to exist as a company.

Well I do NOT appreciate having to take a bunch more measurements on an action simply because a company doesn't have their act together.

With a BAT, it's a quick verification of numbers. With Defiance, it's measuring and recording everything. Again, I am totally UNIMPRESSED......

And yes, I am grumpy because work is coming in so fast I can't keep up, and I have to chamber a crooked carbon barrel--that likely has uneven rifling--and fit it to an action that takes a bunch of extra steps to chamber. And I refuse to take any shortcuts in precision or quality........
I have two Defiance Rebel auctioned guns. The bolts are not interchangeable which leads me to believe that the actions are not exactly the same. I can use the shorter bolt in both actions.

I have the same situation with two panda actions although they are supposedly the same.

I have a Defiance on order. If they were not so far behind on filling orders, I would order another one.

I have a couple thought I will share I have a deviant elite I called them about a mag bolt and was told I would have to return the action to get a bolt for it I ordered a 223 bolt for it a couple years back and this was not the case Makes me wonder what change Is it a policy change or a quality control change. Prices on that action went up about 400 bucks bolt went up 100 or so I like the action and I feel it is a very good quality product but I won’t buy it at that price point I think there are better options
