One bit of advice, know and understand what you're looking at. If you're not sure ask and post a picture.
It’s an old barrel that ain’t been shot much or not ran hot at all…whatever your cleaning regime is, don’t change a thing. When a dasher barrel gives out, they look like an old asphalt highway…that road is only just starting to show wear.Ok I just got my Teslong Bore scope , and played with it today , and have a couple pictures. Tell me what you think . Not quite in focus I"ll work on that . But is this what you don't want to see ? , this is a old barrel , Looks like lots of crack lines ..
I allways clean while the barrel is still warm from shooting , it is easer to remove the carbon that way and It will clean with about 9 patchesIt’s an old barrel that ain’t been shot much or not ran hot at all…whatever your cleaning regime is, don’t change a thing. What is the hole ? a muzzle brake in a pistol ?I am on my third Teslong, 2 have failed but their support has been 100%. While waiting for my replacement Teslong I purchased a Depstech borescope its shorter than the Teslong not as stiff
but it was 29.99 at Chinamazon. I seem to use this one more than the Teslong.

Looks like maybe a gas port in an AR barrel..What is the hole ? a muzzle brake in a pistol ?
As luck would have it, The hole is almost centered on the land, Creating a bullet scraper, Had the hole landed in the groove you wouldn't be having that problem.I am on my third Teslong, 2 have failed but their support has been 100%. I have and use both - Teslong for a quick look is sometimes adequate - for a clear dependable exam I always reach for one of my Hawkeye borescopes. Lenses are still superior to fiber optic bundles.Teslong has made the "Hawkeye" Obsolete.
