The simple test you can always use without asking others is to put something in your cart (NEVER use your real name or address until you know it is legit) and try to check out. IF they do not allow you to use a credit card and rely solely on Venmo, PayPal F&F, and other instant cash apps, it is always a scam. If you can use a credit card, then you are protected by your credit card company even if it is a scam, and that is why the scammers stay away from the use of credit cards.
