What is a good spotting scope for decent price

I am looking to buy one for a young man that shoots with me but not looking to spend very much but to want to get him a decent one. Even if it's vintage thanks

young eyes help— How much is “not very much” Id like to find the same thing youre looking for, for myself. I consider my kowa 82SV marginal and its a $1000.00 scope
 
I have the Leupold SX4 20-60 Spotter and I am very pleased with it. I use it for hunting and if I had to do over I would have went with the 15-45 just because of its smaller frame. The optical clarity though is top notch.

I got mine for 750 a year ago. Well worth it.
 
From the cheap end of the conversation, I once had a really bad spotting scope. To not embarrass myself, I won’t mention what it was. I wanted an upgrade, but didn’t want to spend a lot of money on something I don’t use much. I had bought an Athlon rifle scope recently and was quite impressed by it, so I went to Amazon and paid the massive sum of about $150 for an Athlon Talon 20-60 spotting scope. Very nice, and I am pleased. Sharp optics. I don’t yet know at what range I’ll be able to spot 22 caliber bullet holes.

So yes, I am cheap, but I like the Athlon.
 
I was cheap too, had 3 different manufactures before I got a Kowa. Big improvement over the others, but is not any better than my rifles scope. I have a Golden eagle 15-60 and a NF BR 12-42
