Larry D Scott Barrel Vice

This one?

I'd almost give it a try, and still may... but mine has the same recoil lug cutout they claim to be the secret...but still have trouble with some barrel removals . Their instructions say a 4' cheater bar on a 3/4" drive Hollands internal wrench... that might do for most but I bent 1" steel handle with a cheater bar and the action never moved....ended up maching it off...the recoil lug flopping on the barrel still it was a very difficult to get it to move penetrating oil and all...the barrel and action were together 50 years. The threads appeared rusty like and some old glue like loctite on the threads...and its vise clamp has hardened 1" bolts I lube and tighten with a 1.5 " box end wrench and a cheater bar, about as hard as I can.
I have milled flats on one stubborn one also and tighten it in the Bridgeport mill vise...that works good too... but you can make things put of old barrels...or new barrels...made a nice SS muzzle break out of a new shortened Bartlein barrel blank for an AR.
Thanks for the tip...not sure if it's any better the the one I have...a few barrels are just difficult...
