Stock Options for Savage model 11

My favorite new hobby is finding some of the older Savage rifles and making them into something a bit differenter.
My latest victim is a model 11 in 243W. I have a new barrel in 6mm Creedmoor coming from Crown Ridge this week. The rifle came with one of those generic black plastic stocks. I would like to find a nice lightweight fiberglass or Carbon Fiber stock, but the options are a bit limited. I would like to keep it around $500 but that could be stretched a bit. There are some nice options from Stockys but even then the selection is limited.
SO there have to be options I haven't come across yet.
I know there must be some options I haven't come across yet...

Isn't the model 11 the same action as the model 10? Measure the action screw spacing and find the right stock for a short action savage. Should be easy.

It's the 4.5" Spacing short action
I have a chassis for another short action but it's a bit heavy for hunting so why I wanted a light weight FG or CF stock. I may even entertain a Hoge stock with the aluminum inner.

I have a bell and carlson m40 on a mod 11 varmint short action that I really like. It is inletted for a varmint weight barrel (not sure what contour your barrel is) and has become one of my favorite rifles. It works well from the bench, field rests like a tree limb or deer stand rail or offhand. Mine has the bolt release on the trigger guard and a detachable mag, when I bough the stock b&c had just started inletting that combination.

The bolt release on the trigger guard or on the top/side are slightly different, and could possibly me modified to work either way, but I am not positive on that

All the 10,11,12 actions measure the same, screw spacing with the older is 4.25 newer ones 4.40, not sure about the latest models.
Go to Boyd's Gun Stocks and pick out a nice lite weight laminate for your model. Probably cost you around $150. If the barrel channel is not right a little sandpaper and about 30 minutes of your time will make it right.

Those early short actions with the 4.522" screw spacing are a little rare. You probably won't find much out there to fit it. I'd suggest calling Kevin Rayhill to see if he still makes that option. Be prepared to wait a year for the stock to be finished.
